So even with less than stellar sales for their last UFC game (not to say the game wasn’t great), Zuffa and company still decided to sign a huge contract with THQ that locks them in till 2018. THQ broke the news yesterday saying:
We’re very excited to extend our relationship with Zuffa and the Ultimate Fighting Championship,” said Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President, Core Games, THQ. “Working closely together with Dana White and the incredible team at UFC, we plan to continue to deliver outstanding interactive UFC experiences to gamers around the world in all new ways, including social, mobile and brand extensions.
Pretty monster contract if you ask me, though I’ve always been a pretty big THQ fan myself since back in the day playing WWF/WCW games on the N64 till now. I just hope they don’t turn the undisputed series into another Madden or other sports game franchise by distributing a new version every year. For craps sake just give us some DLC and updates and do a solid release every couple of years. That is my rant for the day… carry on…
