Building off the recent news of Lord of the Rings heading into the free2play realm looks like another game is jumping ship or what ever. Pirates of the Burning Sea develop revealed today that they have plans to drop the monthly subscription here in the near future.
Currently Pirate lovers have to dish out 14.99 to play the pirate mmo but soon that is about to change. Flying Lab Software has yet to release an official date of when the game will go free but just stated it would be “soon”.
Pirates is going free2play with other mmos such as Dungeons & Dragons Online, and EverQuest II(also from publisher Sony Online Entertainment(SOE)) and recently announced Lord of the Rings. This is SOE’s 2nd game now to be announced as being free, one can only hope they soon make Star Wars Galaxies a free2play game as well as we all know it is on it’s way down.
