Lots and lots of Uncharted news has been coming around this past week and I’m not going to lie it has been overwhelmingly awesome. But it has taken me a little bit of time to get all the information processed and then to come up with a semi good post for all of you. Either way here we go, going to try and touch on everything but forgive me if I forget some stuff.
First off we got our first Uncharted rumor a couple weeks back before the VGA’s that stated our hero Nathan Drake would be traveling to the desert in the next installment a rumor that ultimately became a reality when Sony released some teaser images right before the VGA’s (images below) as well as a small teaser trailer. The trailer didn’t really give us anything besides the want for more.
We then go to the VGA’s and we get to see much much more such as the name of the next installment which happens to be “Drakes Deception” as well as a release date. Now the release date may upset a few people – I know it upset me. So mark November 1st of 2011 on your calendar as that is the release date as it stands right now for the third installment. Sorry 360 fans Uncharted 3 will stay like its predecessors exclusive to PS3 players. They did however give us a better and longer trailer that will wet your whistle a bit more I hope.
Next we have some fun stuff, with the announcement of Uncharted 3 PlayStation went haywire on the PSN giving away avatars and releasing some themes and wallpaper for all of us fans. Sadly the Avatars got snatched up super quick, but you can still get a dynamic theme off the PSN for $2.99 or a static theme for $2.99. If you are interested in just wallpaper the PSN also has that. I hope they bring the Avatar back out for people to buy. The images are below as well as a video of the dynamic theme. Also hold on to your pants but we also got a chance to look at some behind the scenes footage from Naughty Dog thanks to joystiq – enjoy.
